My 11-year-old's Devotional Book

Last December 18, 2010, while I was passing by Robinsons Cybergate, Cebu from my monthly visit in Chong Hua Hospital, I spotted a last day book sale in the middle of the mall and when I see books, my enthusiasm bursts out since I love books. I was able to grab Ms. Grace Chong's Super Devos for my 11-year-old daughter Maia and Grace Found Me, another daily devotional book for my mom who just arrived from overseas.  I was so glad that I have given these books to my loved ones and I was enthused by Maia's approach on her very first daily devotional because she was reading it like a pocket book instead of waiting another day to read the pages. She loved the stories in it and am happy that she is reading stories that I know will mold her into a God-loving child, and erase my fear of her being a spoiled brat since our attention is all on her. I have also asked Ms. Grace Chong to sign the books since she was around in the afternoon and took a picture of her.

WHEN YOU LIVE FAVOR-MINDED, GOD'S BLESSINGS WILL CHASE YOU DOWN AND OVERTAKE YOU.

Blessings at Gerizim 1 " Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the LORD your God , being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today , the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth .   2 "All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the LORD your God :   3 "Blessed shall you be in the city , and blessed shall you be in the country .   4 "Blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts , the increase of your herd and the young of your flock .   5 "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl .   6 "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.  7 "The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will...

TURN YOUR CARES INTO PRAYERS

Turn Your Cares Into Prayers Philippians 4:6 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; My friend, God doesn’t want you to be fearful, fretful or anxious. Instead, He wants you to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”. So when you have a care or worry, straightaway, turn that care or worry into prayer. That is supplication. And when you are troubled by a care or worry that you don’t know how to pray for, pray in the Spirit or tongues. And in the midst of that prayer, thank God that He is already your healing, provision, prosperity, good success and victory. That, my friend, is thanksgiving. “Pastor Prince, if I am worried about something, how long should I pray?” Keep on praying. Pray in the Spirit until the worry lifts or dissipates, “and the peace of ...

DOUBLE FOR YOUR TROUBLE!

Double For Your Trouble! Zechariah 9:12 12 Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. I am sure that you have heard the expression, “When life throws lemons at you, make lemonade!” Well, I want you to know that when the devil throws lemons at you, God Himself will make lemonade for you! After all, the Bible says that God works all things together for your good. (Romans 8:28) And He does it with style — He restores double for your trouble! Beloved, if you have lost a husband or wife through divorce, or a precious child through death, God can restore double to you, so that you end up having more than before, if not in quantity, then in quality! Consider Job in the Old Testament. When he lost everything, his wife told him to curse God and die. He refused and, instead, responded to God in faith, and “the Lord gave to Job twice as much as he had before”. (Job 42:10) When David lost the ...

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

click here to read updated: DAILY DEVOTIONAL I believe that when you pray in the Spirit, that is, in tongues, a shield goes up all around you — a watery shield. But why do I call it a “watery” shield? Let me share with you what the Lord showed me. Once, I was meditating on Ephesians 6:16 — “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”. At first, I thought of a Roman soldier’s wooden shield. But three words kept repeating themselves in my mind: “quench” and “fiery darts”. Then, the Lord said, “Son, if it is a wooden shield, the fiery darts will burn it up.” He showed me a watery shield instead, one which was able to quench the fiery darts. You may ask, “Where did the water come from?” Remember that Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38) The next verse says, “But this He spoke concerning the Spirit......
