SPIRITUALITY IN MODERN TIMES

click here to read updated: DAILY DEVOTIONAL I believe that when you pray in the Spirit, that is, in tongues, a shield goes up all around you — a watery shield. But why do I call it a “watery” shield? Let me share with you what the Lord showed me. Once, I was meditating on Ephesians 6:16 — “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”. At first, I thought of a Roman soldier’s wooden shield. But three words kept repeating themselves in my mind: “quench” and “fiery darts”. Then, the Lord said, “Son, if it is a wooden shield, the fiery darts will burn it up.” He showed me a watery shield instead, one which was able to quench the fiery darts. You may ask, “Where did the water come from?” Remember that Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38) The next verse says, “But this He spoke concerning the Spirit......

September 01, 2009 Dear Friend, We need your help for our daughter “Sam”. We are hardworking parents earning just enough for the daily subsistence of our family. We are not endowed with worldly possessions and riches, but we are blessed with three children, our greatest treasure. That is why we are writing you to humbly ask for your support to our 14 year old child, Samantha Nicole, our first born and beloved daughter who is currently suffering and fighting for her life due to SEVERE SCOLIOSIS. BRACED AT 10 “Sam”, as we fondly call her, was diagnosed with Scoliosis in 2005. At 20 degrees curve of the spine, the doctor prescribed metal braces and a regular physical therapy. Lord, Make me an instrument of your piece. I am not worthy though to lead the path of righteousness, but be my constant guide. That we may be your soldiers to guide and help those who are in need. Provide us the abundance of wealth and health so that we can carry on the love and spread our willingness to help those who are in dire need. Keep us strong.  Keep us standing still.  Be the light in our path, be the thunder and lightning when evil comes our way.  Keep us safe from harm. We just hope to be your angels here on earth.  That you might say, "Carry on child.  Carry on.  I will always be with you." Amen.
